Hockey Fans, what video game do you play?

Which hockey video game do you play?

I want to get back into playing hockey games, and Im just looking around for the best. Saw some clips from EA's nhl 2006, game looks awesome.

EA's NHL 2006 looks great - my son has a copy that I play now and then, but it just doesn't feel right. Its better if you get 2 players or more, but against the computer the AI is crap.

And like every EA sports game I've owned or played, it has a tendency to cheat.

i find EA makes every 3-4 years of NHL good, there is always the few games in between that are kinda shitty,

ive always played EA NHL and i must there there is VERY FEW years when they make back to back good games, 97-98 is the only time i can think of it.

So very true. Ok so EA or 2k6 ? AHHH I always have this headache every year. Maybe this time I should go and rent each one before I buy the game.

pretty much...they come up with some good inovations, then they sit on their ass for 2-3 years... (or perhaps they work on new features)...

ea's NHL 2005 for PS2 is great, then I recently picked up NHL 2006 for xbox and I didn't like it. The hitting is just so pussy. Plus I don't believe you can dive in 06 either.

Do the 2k hockey series games have good hitting?

I had 2k3 for ps2, the one with Roenick on the cover. The games look and graphics were flawless but it was hard to play. There was like 3 different controller modes.

DC had problems, but I kinda miss it also.
