I just got the Kodak DX3600.

Stills and video in 1 inexpensive unit.

It was $449 canadian so it should be a real bargin
for those in the U.S.A.

Great pics, mounts as a drive.

I've also got the Fuji Finepix 2600, but I don't like the
feel of it.

... and of coarse a JamCam for taking those truely
horrible shots to "fake" webcam shots.

I am not sure what you intend to shoot with the camera but the Canon Powershot G2 is a good choice for a wide range of stuff.

Well in the summer I am planning to go to Indonesia and I would like to shoot some nature pixs and that sort of stuff. The problem is that most of the camera's fuck up their colours. Especially the 2megapixel camera's tend to make the pictures a little bit gray.

I have a Sony cybershot dsc-p1, shoots at 3.3 mp or so.
For holidays and amateur stuff its a great cam, good quality, very nice colors. I even did a model shoot with it and the pics turned out really nice.
I think they are pretty cheap lately, 700 bucks or so.
If you want to do pro shoots id suggest another brand like Canon or Nikon. Im gonna get the Canon d60.
Altho im not an expert this cam seems to be best best SLR cam available in the prosumer range atm. You wont find better unless you want to pay 10k

Get the Sony DSC 707.
Here is a closeup shot I took of my eye for a sculpture reference.

I used my DSC707.

The Sony cams are great for nature and macro shots.

i have a canon g1 myself and can say without a doubt for price etc
its a great little unit
the g2 definately improves on the ergonomics of it
much easier to handle and there are third party groups that make a nice frame/holder for it so its not as bulky to use.
just my two cents

I bought a Sony DSC-F707 and I love it. It's the best digital camera you can buy for the money right now. I've heard good things about the Cannon as well, but I know I made the right decision.

And for the record, I'm typically anti-Sony (TVs, DVD players, etc).
