Wouldnt suprise me. Paypal was there from the start andwhen ebay realized the money paypal making off of ebays market and tried to compete it was too late paypal had cornered the market.

And like they say in business classes the 1st in any industry to come out with something or revolutionize something is never over taken by the 2nd's and 3rd's

billpoint never took off because ebay sellers hated it. it was a dream come true for credit card hackers.

You apparently don't know eBay's service department too well do you? And I don't mean this sarcastically.

Ebay's service department sucks but their legal department is pretty darn quick.

If eBay takes over Paypal, you can forget using it for anything adult related. eBay is run by the biggest bunch of chicken shit pussies it has ever been my displeasure associate myself with.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them buy it only to dismantle it.

They would pay whatever it took to eliminate the competition for BillPoint. Companies buy competitors simply to get rid of them all the time. My guess is that they would merge it with BillPoint and "downsize" whatever was left over.

Please think things through before you post. Thanks.

paypal has a much better reputation among buyers and sellers than billpoint. it would be a complete waste of money to dismantle paypal. if ebay did that their shares would drop because they're not getting the full benefit from their investment.
as it is now, paypal would eat away profits of ebay. paying that much money and then throwing away a strong name is dumb.

their shares would most likely drop anyways depending on how much they offered for paypal. they'll most likely end up overpaying.
