See the funny part there is that the reason for difference in the # of programs for PC & Mac is that Mac users are too smart to fall for the old "Same program, different name" trick that works so well on those mindless PC users.

Exactly. We can install virtual PC and a copy of Windows XP and run any windows software. The same cannot be said for PC users attempting to run Mac software.

A PC user can actually build their own pc and save a bundle of money in the process. A Mac user is a slave to the hardware that Apple chooses.

macs get 90% fewer viruses, spyware is pretty much non-existant, and the hardware is faster... now with the new mac pro's running intel chips... theres no real reason i'll ever buy/build a PC again

The point is...OSX can run on a regular pc, they have working versions of it, Apple would never release the software because they know the hardware end of their company would pretty much tank as I can build a comparable PC for half the price of a Mac. Also the upgradeability of a PC has to be taken into consideration.

Besides, I was just saying something a mac user could never do...build their own mac, while pc users can.

I think you are confusing Apple with Compaq...

When something comes standard as a piece of shit, of course you would want to build your own. Mac users have no need to build their own, the best of everything is already in there, hence the higher price of a Mac over a PC.

You can upgrade Macs... do you even know anything about a Mac, or are you just talking about what you think to be true?

God Apple has you people snowed.

They failed hardware wise and had to suck up to a company they once mocked on national TV (i.e. Intel). They failed at building an OS and had to piggyback a GUI on top of a unix platform to keep the little semblance of market share they had.

At least their cases are pretty.

I think you are the one that has been "snowed" and I'm not even sure by who...

I'm not sure why PC users get so fucking threatened and feel the need to enter every Apple thread to talk shit and talk out of their asses. We don't use macs because we've been tricked or because we're dumb... we are smarter and don't give a shit about what pc users think... we are looking for a better experience.

I'm not sure why Apple users feel so threatened by PC users that they have to respond to every post. It must be because they don't care what PC users think.

Ya, you're right, Apple failed big time, that company is a total failure... Ferrari doesn't really have a big market share either (their "cases" are pretty too)...

PC's are cheap for a reason... that about sums it all up.

We're not threatened, we're laughing at you. But we also understand, not all of you can afford a Mac, so it's cool.

When I looked to change my editing rig to a mac. First for the price of a new system apple is very cheap on what you get for a very high price. For the 7 grand it would cost me ,I could build a omg box or two really fast boxes and do network rendering for the cost of that mac. The reason they are strong now is the ipod not their computers.Read a interesting thing in the NY Times how Mac users project this for the people thing on Steve Jobs when he really is a greedy and selfish and Bill Gates is really the one speaking out and giving so much to charity is considered the suit. When its really the other way around. Apple has a great os but the hardware cost is crazy.
