Amazing Toyota truck. Crashed, bashed, set on fire , dropped in the sea

Put on top of a high rise that is demolished, but the Yota starts back up.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...y ota&pr=goog -sl

That's the point GM and Ford misses.
I recently read Bill Ford (Chariman of Ford and grandson of Henry) about he was planning to reitalize Ford...building new exciting cars, more stylish vehicles, cutting jobs and closing plants.....same type of yada yada yada from Jack Waggoner of GM...

It was interesting to note that neither one of these clowns talked about making reliable, durable, and dependable cars. Neither one of them talked about making quality cars that wil be there starting up day after day with minimum fuss and last a good 200,000 miles....neither one talked about making cars people wanted.

This indestritable Hilux was just a little truck that could. Not flashy, not retro-glam, no bling bling, even when new. Just a truck that would not die. Camry, Avalon, Corolla, 4Runners, Landcruisers......they all run forever. Not one of them will take any contests for "excitement". Yet people are buying them. Toyota is expanding and growing while Ford and GM are shrinking and dying....perhaps they forgot their goals, maybe they have lost their way..perhaps their MBA hired fresh from IVy League universities just don't understand anything beyond case anaylisis and reading financial statments---or how to scam off corporate assets--they know how to read the bottom line, but they have no idea how to grow the bottom line.....which is making cars that work.....

the video is fun, but it carries a greater message of what is wrong with American car companies. This ought to be requried reviewing by eveyr auto exect and MBA in school of what's wrong with America and how to fix it.

Those trucks are beasts had one when I was a teenager and put it through hell in the desert and it never gave up, even rolled it a few times. But this doesn't even compare.

Honda, Toyota, Mazda (before Ford butchered it), Hyundai...

There's reasons all these vehicles are on the road 10+ years after production date and still starting every morning like they are new.

how the hell ? double post with no time limit

Thing with todays car is that they are built for safety. It's proven that a "softer" car causes less injuries

Saw this video a while back it's well worth the watch. My Toyota has survived being T-boned by the 79 ford van.

yes, the hardest life a vehicle can have is being a poorly maintained taxi in a 3rd world city.

guess what the #1 choice for taxis is in these areas? it ain't anything american.

the lowly toyota corolla.

IF you survive the crash. Ever see what happens to a "soft" car in a head on collision or when t-boned by a full frame vehicle?

Import cars are not imune to this though.

as far as used cars go, I'll take an import any day. I had an 85 Honda Civic in 1999 that was happy as a pig in poo when we rebuilt the engine and redid a CV joint. That's all it needed. The 84 RX7 was great, just needed some electrical system touchups. And my 89 Toyota Tercel ran just fine until I sold it in 1999.

Mind you, the 78 Acadian was unkillable except for eating up starters every other quarter.

That's impressive, I have to wonder since it was a diesel if that made any more difference if it was a gas powered.

This video had me in stitches.
