D70 owners beware!
During a shoot last night our trusted D70 locked up on us. We got a flashing card lamp and the camera locked up. Fortunately we had a back up to finish the shoot.
After some investigation, it appears Nikon as annouced a recall of sorts as this is common in some D70's. May want check out Nikon's website for further details. Sinclair

Those Fucks!!!! We have 2 and both of them have locked up, Nikon told us it was because they were dropped (which of course they were not) so we had to pay to have them fixed, then they locked up again and they are still trying to get out of having to give us new ones!!!!
That's some shitty customer service ![]() |

I also have a D70 and I am not satisfied with it at all. After all it is just a prosumer camera and not a real pro tool. I will buy a D200 as soon as it is available and hope that it will work better than the D70.

I brought a D70 to use as a back up but found it to be less than useless for studio work. It is however an amazing outdoor camera producing some of the best quality digital images i have ever seen. But for studio work stick with the D2x or D200.

I have a D70 and I love it. It has locked up on me a handful of times. I've discovered that quickly removing the battery and reinserting it fixes the problem.
