this is totally an impulse buy...

I had Final Scratch version 1 (not the new version 2). Didn't have problems like some were experiencing, but then I'm not a tech noob. Version 2 and Serato are supposed to be better designed.

Make sure you have high quality MP3s or you know how to rip vinyl to MP3. 320kbps. 192kbps is sufficient.

Can't remember latency, but I think it's low enough to mix but not good enough to do extreme scratchs, around ~1ms latency.

Try the Rane Serato forum:

Check the video too:

I'm aware of how they work, they don't compare to these systems though. Like Numark and Allen&Heath equipment, one is $100 and the latter is $2k for a reason.

Did you try it out?

I came across http://www.traxsource.com/ last week, MP3s of white labels too in 320kbps, too bad I'm not into this genre or DJing anymore.

dude, I have worked on Serato and Final Scratch both, and Serato is FAR FAR FAR superior to Final Scratch

the cue points, the tracking, everything is much better on the Serato system

Serato is what anyone who is a professiona is going for now, I haven't heard someone say they wanted Final Scratch in a long time, everyone wants Serato
