Where to start

I'm planning to start my marketing campaign pretty soon and since I want to do it correct I checked the spam/marketing laws in my country, the european laws and the can spam usa laws.

Seems like I can't release a spider on the net to harvest adresses and everything has to be opt in to stay out of trouble.

Buying lists is mostly a waste of money from what I read since they are often offering old lists so a trustworthy email broker company seems to be the best solution. Lots of these companies tell you they will send out 3 million mails a day for you and charge like 30$ a month for it. Are those all scammers or are there any decent ones among them?

Any remarks or recommandations on this topic?

I know there are many people here who know their mailing stuff, any help would be welcome.

Don't tell me I'm a spammer, I feel it's my right to promote my business/ product and want to do it the correct way. It seems harder if you want to do it the correct way then going on the anonymous path with proxy linking, spoofing etc....
