Religion is a tricky bastard. Everybody interpret the written word different, and there are extremist within every religion. But I believe that in the "Western World" (The EU, USA, Canada) religion isn't as important as in some Arab states.
We tend to care more about money. Sure, religion is still a major part in many western lifes, and my point of view isn't objective. Religion is probably more important in USA than in Sweden, because over here the majority doesn't care at all about our religion. I really don't care if our PM is Jewish, Muslim, Protestant, Catholic, Buddist, Atheist etc. etc. As long as he or she does the job well they can be whatever "race", gender or have whatever religious believes they like. Btw, I'm Agnostic. |

I guess having winter 5 months per year has it's advantages, if you're used to 15+ degrees celcius you really don't like it when it's 15 degrees below zero. That means that if we were about te be occupied by Arabs, Africans, South Americans, South East Asians, Australians or any country used to warm weather, we'd still have about 3/5 of our country left ;)
