No, but AaronM (or wherever you found it) could install an htaccess to block it, or show an advertisement instead of the images.

A lot of those hotlinking sites rely on peoples unprotected servers and steal bandwidth as much as content. Neither is ok, but this sounds different than hotlinking was my only point.

So, is this an AVS of sorts? Is it possible your client has an affiliate program and the affiliate used a FHG and submitted it as an AVS site?

yes, if the offender is USA based it is no big deal to shut them down.

the best way is to lean on the host and e-commerce processor. check their "agents for copyright" in the fine print and serve them notice.

the reason it is easy to shut down the USA based offender is because the host becomes a "contributory infringer" under the act.

and it is usually the host that has the deep pockets, not the little asswipe stealing the content.

so the host pulls the plug on the websites pronto.

I don't understand how your images can still be hotlinked once you fix your .htaccess....

Yeah they can use CURL/PHP to fake an http header, fetch the image, then forward it to a user - but in doing all that fusker still ends up paying for that bandwidth (2x, once to rip the image from you, then one more to load the image for the viewer, BUT, fusker dosen't do that, all the images are hotlinked) And what does fusker do to its "own .htaccess"? - people have been saying a lot about fusker being a super script lately - but its code is available online freely, i do not see anything special in it.

I don't see that happening with my images on there. They have a small number of images that they grabbed from one of my sites a while back. But if I stick in an additional line of code to my existing htaccess it blocks them.
