I'm trying to get used to the looks.

I think the only thing comparable really is the BMW 760. Bentley and Rolls would be an option, but cost more. Altought I think a Rolls or Bentley would blow away a Maybach in styling.

Maybach 62 is the most expensive sedan in the world, kinda $400k, while Maybach 57 (shorter) is less expensive ... They both rock, anyway!

Ive a friend who owns the Maybach 62 (with a partition in the middle, and a weird james bond style tinted-glass-at-a-touch-of-a-button) it certainly gets girls interested, they think you are a movie star till you get out ;)

I don't own a Maybach but the car service guy I use drives me around in one once or twice a week when I need to do a lot of travelling around town.

Hell, it still costs less than parking 4 or 5 times in Manhattan!

Why can't you have a pontiac? He lives in MI. We get some bad winters. This year was prety good, but others can have a lot of snow. Can't drive an exotic everyday here.

Maybe he just buys what he likes? His collection doesn't look like he's going for a specific theme, other than it being a collection of cars that may meet his personal taste.

I wouldn't turn one down if they were half priced. Overall they are incredible cars. But as long as there are Bentleys you can buy for $160k and Mercedes CLS for under $100k the Maybach doesn't make sense.
