Yeah the phonebook option has definitely made me lazy in attempting to memorize phone numbers. I just recently learned my husband's phone number, but prior just relied on the fact that it was stored. One day my phone was dead and I had to call my mom for his phone number, I knew then it was time to put a real effort into memorizing it. Lol.
I got the phones on my VOIP, and 2 of my cellphones. I only know a handfull of them.

I used to be real good with numbers. Remembered all the phone numbers we had since I was a kid.
Then I started getting high...LOL After a number of years doing that I of course stopped.
But now, I can barely remember my own number.
Drugs are bad children, m'kay?
I only know numbers of people really close to me; others I have no clue. The funny part is I just dial the #'s of the ones I know instead of selecting them in my list.
This might cheer you up if it was a T-Mobile phone. This may only be true on the sidekick 2s. Last year at Mardi-Gras my sidekick 2 was stolen SIM card and all. I ordered a new one, and put the new SIM card in. Maybe 12 hours or so after activation. All my numbers, and pictures stored on the SIM card were on the new sidekick. It seems to me like T-Mobile dose network backups of the SIM card data. Maybe other carriers do it as well. I could be wrong about where the data is stored, but as far as I know the pictures and numbers are stored on the SIM card.
That sucks. There is a program out there you can buy called Data Pilot. It allows you to download all your numbers and pics from your phone to your cell. I backup my shit once a month. I've lost too many numbers in the past.
