    FHGs and cookies (business thread)

Do all sponsor galleries set up cookies for surfers?

If not, how can I check if a particular sponsor does set em up on FHGs?

Not all cookie setting methods can be seen in the source. The best way is to use Firefox. Go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies > View Cookies

It's best to clear them all before loading the gallery so it's easier to find what you are looking for.

Not all sponsor cookies are for affiliates though. Some sponsors may set two or more cookies. One cookie may be live for 30 days that tracks the surfer, and the other is your affiliate cookie that is live for only 3 days or less.

It is not standard that a sponsor would set cookies on a FHG. I think they should though. We're at the point now where the selling of the paysite is often done before the surfer even reaches the tour.

Wow, a real answer on GFY is like a breath of fresh air.
          Thanks for the info

One more question: a link with someone elses ref code would override the previously set cookie, right?

It should, otherwise you'll get a bunch of people loading sites in iframes in order to get their cookie set.

Yes? following the same routine that set the cookie in the first place -

Surfer hits site with ref code
                Cookies deployed
                -- look at porn --

                repeat.. (cookies overwritten)
