Anyway, I didn't feel like watching the video... Animals (pets or animals that are going to be slaughtered) should be treated with respect and if killed, killed quickly and with the least amount of pain done to the animal.

I didn't watch the video since I hate seeing fucked up cruelty to animals. saw a video a while back of some people skinning some type of furry animal alive and I think people like that should be skinned alive too.

Also saw a slaughterhouse documentary on the BBC a few months back. Very disturbing. I'm not saying that they treat all animals the same in every slaughterhouse or anything but this stuff also happens with other animals like cows which most people seem to be fine with. You rarely hear people talking about it.

It just seems strange to me that people think that slaughtering cats and dogs is different then to slaughter a cow. Sure, cats are cuter and don't get me wrong, i have cats myself and I would seriously be heartbroken if anything happened to them. I don't like people treating animals like shit but if they slaughter these cats humanely, then, whats the problem?

While I agree that millions of animals are tortured needlessly worldwide every year, I also believe that PETA is a buncha ass hats with an agenda that harms more animals than it strives to protect. Watch animal planet sometime for a fairly tame version of the shit that happens when people who "love" animals cant take care of em porperly and they end up having to be put down because of disease and starvation. If we as a people let them run wild like some in PETA want the world would be over run by sick, diseased, starving and dangerous animals. Its the law of nature that some have to die, whether for medical experimentation, natural causes, food or what ever

Honestly...deep down I would have contempt for an individual eating dog or cat just like some people have contempt for me eating cow..however if that's part of their culture I won't do anything to stop it.

Just being honest. But, there is no reason for them to do that shit where they try to inflict as much pain in the process because they think it does something to the meat.

If you're going to eat it..then kill the damn thing as quickly and humanely as possible.

If you're going to eat it..then allow what little time it has on this planet to be as humane as possible.

I won't go so far as to preach about free range chickens, but I've seen pics of so many dogs in one crate they are literally lying on top of each other with barely room to breathe, their legs and tails sticking out of the sides.

I didn't watch that link because although I eat meat I don't really wanna see animals tortured. But I have to agree with many in this thread that different cultures eat different animals and just because they are pets here they aren't necessarily elsewhere. I do think it should be done humanely thought. If they have to die then let their death be quick and painless.

Our food supply as humans is treated like absolute shit no matter where you go. Check out the local slaughterhouse some time. Cats, dogs, cows, chickens.. They're all animals. There is no less cruelty in North America on the killing floor. Many cows each day make it beyond the power hammer thats supposed to smash their skull and kill them instantly. They go down the processing line just the same, dead or alive.

Who needs a video... goto your local meat processing plant. I have friends that have worked in that industry. Not pretty, but the only way to provide an effective food source for our fat asses.

We all need to eat, I think those with a problem with that should really just stop eating anything at all that was once living, plant or animal. It would really free up a lot more food for the rest of us and curb the actions that must be taken in order to feed us. Just because "vegans" only pick on poor plants that can't defend themselves or run away doesn't make them any better...fuck them and thier Im better than you attituded.
