Hey,
I m too tired to look it up from somewhere. Anybody know how to place your own image in the address bar? You know right now there is the explorer button in the address bar. And when you bookmark It places your own image aswell. If you have abookmark to GFY you can see it in the favorites. Any Ideas?

Make a 16X16 pixel image and save it as favicon.ico
Upload to your root directory

create an icon (good program IconCool Editor at cnet.com) 16x16 pixels and upload to your root directory. The icon MUST be called favicon.ico
It is very tricky to get it to show up in your own computer address bar. You basically only get one shot at it because it stores the icon in cache which is very difficult to get rid of. You have to make sure you get it right the first time or you will have to use a different computer to check your everytime you change it. |

if you click and drag the icon that's in the address bar (in front of the http) into the address bar - it reloads the page and will reset the favicon for that page |

To Whom that are interested.
If you cant get it to refresh. bookmark the url. go to favs , rightclick props , change icon. but the address bar seems to stay the same with me.

another trick is to search for a file called shelliconcache (no file extension. it is a hidden file in windows/system if i remember correctly) copy it to another directory and then delete the original. Create another file in its place with the same name and restart. This file is where all the icons are cached (duh).
I had success with this but my computer is so damned hacked and tweaked it is hard to tell what fucking works and what is just my computer crying for me to leave it alone. My computer is my bitch. ![]() |
