Tomarrow Tax Deadline April 15th
Well guys, was the IRS good to you this year, ha ha ha. Fuck, I'm gonna have to pay in $1800. That's not as bad as I thought that it'd be though.
I'm always down to the wire. Tomarrow I'm gonna have to pick up the paperwork to send them a chunk of cash to make them happy. My accountant filed an extension on my return because of some matters with my wifey's Social Security number, her last name never got changed yet, so that's gonna cause problems unless it's fixed. Anyways, I'm just glad that it's over until next year |

This IRS shit drives my crazy... I moved at least 3 times in 2001 -- which means I got to track down statements from like 4 different banks, and I need to file 3 different forms for use of my various apartments as an office, then I have to track down statements from credit cards that I've since canceled, and the list goes on and on -- and I don't even have an address to file from since I'm in-between moving again... yadda yadda it's a major bitch... Only my paychecks follow me from city to city -- i pay all my bills online or by phone... As soon as wireless internet comes out I will be even more mobile.

Fly,
Are you sure we can file an extension at that site without going to an accountant? Stupid question but what are you supposed under Total Tax Liability? Is this the total amount you owe? Or the $2 fee you are paying them?Because I haven't finished my accounting yet, I still haven't figured out how much I owe...... I have to add up my own income and expenses first before I can even take that to my CPA Do we have submit a Form 4868 for both state and federal? Thanks |

Yeah and to all you newbs out there -- the new tax rules say you have to file if you made ONLY $400 in 2001!!! (for everyone else it's about $6,000) They pick on us because we are self-employeed -- you are more likely to get audited if you are self-employeed....

But I'm sure the $1 deal will make me a prime audit target and I bet they will charge me some nice fees, penalties, and interest ;) I don't pay estimated taxes anyway so what's 4 more months of penalties and interest? |

Luck you!
Just curious, you stated that you are going to write off health insurance?? Is that considered a business expense now too? I know I should ask my cpa but I'm too tired right now...so might as well ask you |
