Yes it is a violation of the UCMJ, (Uniform Code of Military Justice). Not just because their's was gay porn. Mere posession, much less production, is "illegal". Of course most posession is overlooked. But to produce it... well, gay or straight, they were asking to be slammmed... pardon the pun.
