Everything about flying pisses me off:

First you have to go to what looks and wants to be a shopping mall, except everything is overpriced, and you have to be there at least 2 hours in advance. Once you get there, you wait in line to turn over your belongings to someone you don't know, and think might be able to get them where you're going. They give a claim check for them. The person also gives you a sheet of paper and tells you where you need to go in order to go where your bags are now allegedly going.

Now you wait in line again so you can be X-rayed, Gamma-rayed, your other bags can be examined, poked prodded (and don't forget to put your shoes through the machine only after you've taken them off!) Then, if they decide it's ok, you can claim your things, and your shoes and put them back on.

Once through there, you go to the gate where your plane is leaving and sit... and wait...and wait... you can buy overpriced merchandise at the stores or wait in a chair near the gate.

Once the waiting is done, you get to go onto the plane where you (surprise) get to sit and wait. Only this time the chair is less comfortable and there are no stores to go to when you get bored. After everyone is on the plane and sits down (125 people in an area that comfortably seats 75) the plane goes to wherever the pilot takes it. Hopefully your bags are on the plane with you (not to worry, you have a claim check!)

For the next few hours as the plane goes, you get to wait for the plane to get there, watching a bad movie maybe and eating the fine food. Oh, and keep your fingers crossed you don't get blood clots....

Finally you get to the other airport (presumably the one you were supposed to go to, but no promises). Now you get to (wait for it...) sit and wait as everyone in front of you on the plane gets off... finally you get out into another shopping-mall wannabe and head to the place where your baggage may be (remember to take that claim check!).

You get to the baggage area and guess what? You wait for your bags, only now there is no place to sit. You may or may not get your bags off the belt.. if you do, it's a good thing you have that claim check because nobody checks who takes which bags... but if someone steals your bag, you still have that claim check!

Then after all that you can take some other transportation to your eventual destination...with your bags, or your claim check.

And you know what the sickest part of all this is???

You are paying the airline to inflict all this upon you!!

Learn something right now. Not much can be done about the airport people. But Fly Delta. they have the best CS, and are on time more than any other airline.

I think, if that ever happened to me, I would never want to fly again.
