What is the BEST advice you could give someone in this biz TODAY!

If someone wanted to make themselves rather rich in this industry today, where would you tell them to start? Who might you suggest they get "in" with? Who may you suggest they avoid? What may they need to promote, and with what kind of traffic? How could you, as a member of our valued (haha) community, help a fellow webmaster make it to the top?

Please tell, even if it is just a short bit of advice. I would like to hear it. (and quite possibly bookmark this bitch!)

Any of these can make you money:

1. Focus on a particular niche category.

2. Create unique content.

3. Develop small sites, build some traffic and resell them.

4. Buy type-in domains with traffic.

5. Buy and resell domains.

6. Provide services for webmasters.

7. Sell advertising for sites.

Research, study learn, and then repeat the process.

Todays porn business is saturated with people trying to get rich quick and they fail. Those days are long gone and I would say 95% of those in the Internet porn business in 1998 are gone and few retired with money.

But if you're determined to come into this business follow these steps.

Devote your efforts to a niche or sector of thew business you understand and can do.

If you understand a porn niche and want to open a paysite learn how to drive traffic.

Find out which sites convert and retain, then find out why.

Build up a stream of traffic you can divert to your own sites.

Build up a reserve of content, it need not be exclusive. But it must be good. Exclusive is rated highly by the professionals, but not by the surfers. However do not buy old crap because it was cheap.

Learn about the affiliates part of the business, by working as an affiliate you will be in the best place to learn.

When you've done all this for a year, then you will be in a position to think about a paysite.

1 word: Plan.
Don't do anything before you've planned it's purpose and projected results.

Best advice I can give would be to figure out what you personally like. If you like big tits, write it out on paper why you like big tits, how big of tits did you like, etc etc. Then learn the art of making thumbs/cropping. Start a blog and find all of the best content you can and make the best thumbs you possibly can. Then find other quality sites in your niche that you truly like and could surf as a surfer. Talk to the owners on ICQ, if you've done a good job at making your site and aren't a complete moron, they'll spare a couple minutes to chat with you. Hopefully they'll be willing to give you a link and send you some traffic. If you're smart, you could get your blog to 20k/day inside of 6months if you make 3-4 posts a day. The key is just making a quality site and having an eye for good content. Don't promote sites just because its a $40PPS. Promote the sites that give you wood.

My thoughts too, but just last week I built 10 sites for a client, didn't even have to generate any traffic. For the price I can't say that it was easy work though, but it turned out nicely.

I'd say approach it with the same business sense as you would if you were opening up a bank. Prepare for the slow times, and always have a plan B. Keep your ear to the ground and stay aware of new opportunities and developing technology. Keep your cool and behave professionally, even under fire-you never know who is watching you. Every now and then, reach a hand out to a noob with great promise-if nothing else it's good karma, but at best, you could help a future player and as we all know, networking is priceless.

Oh, and this one is important:
Don't start a biz thread on this board and expect a serious response, or you will 99% of the time be disappointed. Try the Q & A section, or another more biz oriented board.

Never miss an opportunity to learn something new regardless if you'll have of any use of it that given moment. Spend most of your free time on it and doing extensive research; not directly related with adult industry, but I'm talking more generally. This way after a serious effort and time you'll be in position to chose the way you'll make money and who you'll work with. Specialization will give you an advantage on a sector, but having extensive knowledge for many things will make your business adventures more enjoyable

I'd say to tell them to get the fantasy that it's "easy money" OUT of their head.
If they would not start a small brick and mortar business, then they should not start an internet business.
