Its so easily to get distracted and you end up checking stats every hour, if someone does actually work 12 hours of actual work everyday. My hats off to ya.

What does it matter?

Do you think that all the 9-5ers work 8 hours a day? The 7-7ers work 12 hours?

People these days don't devote all their work hours to work...

at least 12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week. im not working every single minute though. sometimes i'll take a 30 min break or watch a tv show while surfing gfy for an hour.

its more of an on and off again 12 hour work day lol last time i didnt pace myself, i got burned out (and insomnia). fuck that!

DWB 01-24-2006 12:50 PM

I work 12 - 18 hours a day when I am on the road shooting. 5 - 6 days a week. Somtimes for 2 months straight.

But then I come back, get online and slack off.

wyldblyss 01-24-2006 12:50 PM

I do at least 12 of actual work, I aim for 16, but that is not always possible.

sfera 01-24-2006 12:53 PM

Does it count if I sleep 12 hours a day?

What if I say I work 12 minutes a day?

if you plan things right and hire ppl theres nothing wrong with that, lotsa ppl do, weve got 3 photographers a coder, designer, scout, makeup etc, cant and wont do that all by myself, I just look listen and correct.

Agreed. Not only do I have to be available for customers that live all over the world (which means a convenient time for me may not equate to convenient for them), I have to be available for potential customer inquiries, I have dozens of emails to go thru every 20 minutes, I have sites to review for the AVS, I have a major SEO project for a client that takes a couple hours every day, new servers to set up, a new blog to update daily, press releases to review and publish, and find time to post here.

Anyone that has talked to me on the phone can confirm that my ICQ goes off constantly which must be responded to.

Hats off to you for hardwork but have you thought of hiring people? I have 5 paysite and I hire people to run it, I have people run my freesites too. I'll go crazy anwering 30 emails aday let alone a few hours.

I really depend on the person I guess, some are ok with tedious task and have patient to do em. Some are like Howard Hughes (the aviator) just hire people to do everything and just concentrate on expanding his empire.

A lot do.

I know myself, I easily can average 12 hours a day. Now keep in mind, that is not working a straight 12. I work a solid 8 from 7 or 8 a.m. (in winter. Summer's I am up earlier) and work through until 4 or 5. Taking my 15 minutes for break and 30 min for lunch away from computer. Then I chill for a few hours in late afternoon for dinner. Maybe get out of the office, walk the mall, run errands, mail DVD. Then around 7-8 I come back and work 3-4 all depending on how tired I am.

There is always something that needs to be done, and never enough hours in the day. When I want a half day the next, or the weekend, I will put in more work so I can make that time for myself.

12 hours? No problem. Easily do it, and many other's do as well.

:thumbsup

Yes, in fact we are trying to decide whether to hire one or two, but there are certain things that I have to do myself. I can hire someone to do the grunt work, like building virtual accounts, or adding IP's to a dedicated server, or reviewing sites, but I can not hire someone to write for me. I would not be able to justify the rates if I had someone else doing it.

tristan_D 01-24-2006 03:37 PM

10 hours is my daily limit.

Project-Shadow 01-24-2006 04:10 PM

I use to work 12-16 hours a day.. over the past few months i'll do maybe 30 minutes work and then mess about for the rest of the day, time to get back into the habbit of working!

ThumbLord 01-24-2006 04:56 PM

I sleep about 10 hours, check and delete loads of e-mails, make coffee, smoke some and .................. yep 1 hour a day, does that make me the winner of this contest or did I just spend 3 minutes of my free time for nothing ?

Pornwolf 01-24-2006 05:10 PM

I usually work about 14. I keep it interesting as I work on a few entirely different things in different industries.

Veterans Day 01-24-2006 05:12 PM

fuck that, anymore than 5 hours and I am pissed. Its all about automation and working smart:)

TheDoc 01-24-2006 05:40 PM

No shit, years ago I would work 18-30 hours straight, sleep 8-12 and start all over again. I did this 7 days a week for probably close to 4 years.

These days, overall work, of all companies, I put in about 20-25 hours of work a week, including weekends. I may go a day or two and not really work, but then I will put in 8 hours of mad work in a day. I may be online for more than 40+ hours a week, but a lot of the time I am just doing research trying to learn more, and chatting with people, crap like that. I feel like I have to be around for my customers and webmasters, so I stay online.

I contract out most of my work these days. With that a lot of my stuff is automated or being setup to be automated. Being so I have taken on consulting to kill off some boredom.
