For the vast majority of the then years that I have lived in this place the kitchen has been in really bad need of repair. Sadly, the company that owned these places until last year really didn't care and never carried out repairs unless threatened with court action and even then would usually schedule and never show up. Last year we were bought out by another company.

So, when one of my kitchen counters actually crumbled when I touched it I decided to call and ask once again for my kitchen to be repaired. They sent someone around last week to do a survey to see if I really needed it done and yesterday at noon called and said 'we have decided to put in a whole new kitchen in your place' I said 'great! When are you going to start work' expecting it to be like usual and be in a month or so. Instead they say 'tomorrow morning at 8am'.

I am pretty lucky I work from home because I don't know many people that could suddenly take a week off work (they will be here until friday) at such short notice. So last night I had to get everything out of my kitchen and it is now all in my living room. They had to disconnect my stove so somehow I am going to have to plug in the microwave in the living room and use it to cook meals this week.

The workmen are downstairs and I am working with my office door closed incase they come up stairs to use the bathroom and see my screen.

All fun and games..lol
