With Six Feet Under gone and West Wing axed...

are there any high quality, intellegent dramas out there any more? Is there something in the States that we haven't had yet? Lost is good but I wouldn't call it intellegent. Beyond that I don't see anything around at those standards.

Have you watched any 24?

It's the only show on that has me sitting on the edge of my seat and cursing at the TV when it ends and I have to wait a week for the next episode.

Everybody says Prison Break is good, never seen that one yet though...

Then you have some very good intellegent comdey shows like Family Guy, Scrubs, Simpsons and Boston Legal.

I watched it the first two seasons and didn't miss an episode but then they took it off the BBC and put it on Sky (like Fox..owned by the same people) and it wasn't as good with comercials (I know we are spoiled). The last season happened at a bad time for me so I missed most of it but I will try it again. It is good but I don't really classify it as intellegent in the way the writing of Six Feet Under was, for example.

I have missed Boston Legal but it is on cable here. The Simpsons is by far the best of the rest you mentioned but not drama.

The DVDs are available, but if you can always check out ESS.TV

$5 a month and they've got a 24/7 24 stream as well as 25 or so more shows.

I think of lot of UK people have a problem with Deadwood because Ian McShane will always be Lovejoy in the eyes of many.

When my parents came over and put it on tv I was suprised the people that would punishment if I even said 'damn' were watching such a potty mouth show..lol

I watched most of the first season but it didn't grab me like it did a lot of people for some reason.

Hasn't HBO been doing many dramas lately?

Do you watch Entourage? Not really a drama, but it's not your typical "sitcom" either.

I don't think we have that over here yet. We eventually get most things so I will look out for it.

The Shield and E-Ring are GREAT, those are two that are on my HD DVR Religiously. E-Ring gives you great insight into our SpecForces, and what goes on in the Pentagon, while you have a cop who's not afraid to fuck up the evil doers that'll make your jaw drop on the Shield.

Then there's good ole sci-fi night friday.... Stargate, Atlantis and the all new and improved Battlestar Galactica. We're just waiting for the Sci-Fi chanel to go HD. What the frack is taking them so long?

Two words Sarah. "The Shield" I would suggest starting at episode 1 and catching up to speed, best show on television by a long shot and has been for a few years now.

Oh and yes Entourage is a particular fav of mine as well.

I think the Shield is on over here because I have heard people mention it but I am not sure when and where so I will have to hunt it down.
