You guys are making me feel pretty old.

The first rock 'n roll that I remember vividly causing me to become a fan was

sher-er-rry, sherry baby
sher-er-rry, sherry baby

she-e-e-e-e-e-e-ry ba-a-by (sherry baby)
she-er-rry, can you come out tonight (come come, come out toni-i-ight)
she-e-e-e-e-e-e-ry ba-a-by (sherry baby)
she-er-rry, can you come out tonight

(why don't you come out) (come out) to my twist party
(come out) where the bright moon shines
(come out) we'll dance the night away
i'm gonna make-a you mi-yi-yi-ine

she-e-e-e-e-e-e-ry ba-a-by (sherry baby)
she-er-rry, can you come out tonight
(come come, come out toni-i-ight)
(come come, come out toni-i-ight)
you-oo-ooh better ask your ma-a-ma (sherry baby)
te-ell her everything is all right

(why don't you come out) (come out) with your red dress on
(come out) mmm, you look so fine
(come out) move it nice and easy
girl, you'll make me lose my mi-ind

she-e-e-e-e-e-e-ry ba-a-by (sherry baby)
she-er-rry, can you come out tonight
(come come, come out toni-i-ight)
(come come, come out toni-i-ight)
sherry, sherry baby

fade
sherry, sherry baby

(circa 1962)

In the summers my parents would ship me off to San Francisco, and I would share a room with my uncle. He had a clock radio and every morning I would wake up to that song.

You kids really need to listen to The Who's Quadrophenia and learn something about life.

The Demon 01-22-2006 01:58 PM

Good luck with that. Most of these douchebags listen to no talent rap and shit like blink 182. Pathetic

Hanging Garden

creatures kissing in the rain
shapeless in the dark again
in the hanging garden
please don't speak
in the hanging garden
no one sleeps

catching haloes on the moon
gives my hands the shapes of angels
in the heat of the night
the animals scream
in the heat of the night
walking into a dream...

fall fall fall fall
into the walls
jump jump out of time
fall fall fall fall
out of the sky
cover my face as the animals cry
in the hanging garden

creatures kissing in the rain
shapeless in the dark again
in a hanging garden
change the past
in a hanging garden
wearing furs and masks...

fall fall fall fall
into the walls
jump jump out of time
fall fall fall fall
out of the sky
cover my face as the animals die
in the hanging garden

in the hanging garden

New Moon On Monday

Shake up the picture the lizard mixture
With your dance on the eventide
You got me coming up with answers
All of which I deny.

I said it again but could I please re-phrase it
Maybe I can catch a ride
I couldn?t really put it much plainer
But I?ll wait till you decide

Send me your warning siren
As if I could ever hide
Last time la luna,
I light my torch and wave it for the...

New moon on monday
And a firedance through the night
I stayed the cold day with a lonely satellite

(chorus)

Breaking away with the beast of both worlds
A smile that you can?t disguise
Every minute I keep finding
Clues that you leave behind.
Save me from these reminders
As if I?d forget tonight
This time la luna,

I light my torch and wave it for the...

(chorus) (chorus)

I light my torch and wave it for the...

(chorus) (chorus) (chorus) (chorus)

New moon on monday
And a firedance though the night...

Thieves

Thieves, thieves and liars, murderers
Hypocrites and bastards [in laughter]

Hey thanks for nothing!
Morals in the dust
Two-faced bastards and syncophants
No trust

Thieves! liar!
Inside, outside, which side, you don?t know
My side, your side, their side, we don?t know
Which side are they? which side are they?
Which side of their mouth do you suppose that it came?
Which side are they? which side are they?
Which side of the grass is greener?
Inside, outside, which side, you don?t know
My side, your side, their side, we don?t know

You?re like a great big fucking gun,
Just waiting to get squeezed!

Breathe, forfeit erection!
Toxical injection
Geriatric fuck-fest
We still believe in lies

Thieves! liar!
Inside, outside, which side, you don?t know
My side, your side, their side, we don?t know
Who started it? who started it?
Which side are they? which side are they?
Which side of their mouth do you suppose that it came?
Which side are they? which side are they?
Which side of the grass is greener?
Inside, outside, which side, you don?t know
My side, your side, their side, no one knows

You?re like a great big hit of acid,
Waiting to be taken!

I tend to like songs that talk about the destruction of the earth and change instigated by false prophets and lie's.

Different songs had different effects on me for different reasons..and at different ages.

But what group had the most effect on me was listening to Pink Floyd in an outdoor Mercado in Mexico while tripping on Acid.

I liked Pink Floyd before then, but that night I guess I was about 22 sitting there listening to them of course high as a kite my whole perspective changed on a lot of things.

I grew up in the 70's so a lot of this music I listened to because of my older brother and sister but I didn't really LISTEN to it.

So I spent a lot of time revisiting some great bands from the 60's and 70's like The Doors, Zeppelin, The Who etc.

This put me on a spiritual journey that lasted for a few years including being in a ceremony with a Navajo medicine woman taking peyote. That night me and another buddy were adopted into the Navajo Nation.

I look at myself now, and I wonder how I got so lost. I am not the man I used to be. But are anyof us really?

(The lack of a 'quick reply' button is starting to piss me off)

The Cult's 'Love' disc for me, though U2's WAR started about everything for me. And old Talking Heads.

Though the Momentary Lapse of Reason disc by PF was, and is, one my melancholy discs.
