To bump a thread on an internet discussion forum is to post a reply in order to raise the thread's profile by returning it to the top of the list of active threads. This is also called thread necromancy, gravedigging, or wozzeling.
Typically, a thread may be bumped after it has received no replies in several days, or when other (and for the bumper less significant) threads have knocked it off the front page.
Thread bumping, which in its most open form is simply a post consisting of the word "bump", is commonly considered a breach of netiquette and some moderated forums forbid it. Users may get around that by posting what is ostensibly a genuine reply. Sometimes this will mockingly contain the word "bump" in it, such as *Is wandering the forum when he bumps into this thread*. It may also take the form of a trivial question or response such as "Anyone?", rather than using the word "bump" which makes clear their intention.
BUMP is sometimes used as a backronym for "Bring Up My Post" or as a recursive acronym "Bump Up My Post".Comment

500 new blogs are going to have the same design ;) this is why i dont trade links with people with the teenieupdate/crazypink/etc design. people click on links thinking its the same site. if i were the one making the template i would sell 3-4 copies. its not like bangman is broke.Since 1999: 69 Adult Industry awards for Best Hosting Company and professional excellence.

I am not sure I agree with this logic Fris. Surfers see the same basic design with babelogs, free sites, tpgs, link list, forums, toplist etc over and over again. Sure they all have variations in design elements but the same can be done with these templates.Originally posted by fris
At the end of the day it is the quality of the content that gets the bookmark traffic and keeps folks coming back. Any one of the bangmans templates has far greater value when it is used than a blog with a one-in-a-million design that is nothing more than a splog or a tpg using blogging software.
