Damn Icq

What gives, I havent had a problem in 3 years and now when I loaded it, I get some "abnormal termination error" and forces me to close it... i downloaded the 2002a version and installed over it.... still happening, any ideas?

did you actually try an uninstall, then a reinstall?

Simply upgrading can leave inherit problems with many programs..

I will try uninstalling..... i am reading the faq at icq.... apparently i gotta lose all my history if i wanna keep my contact list

no you don't..

At least i didn't. Just backup any file that contains your UIN.

There should be at least 2 in as many directories..
Back 'em up, and then uninstall.. Reinstall the latest version, and copy and paste your files back into the relevant folders. Startup ICQ and it will do a database conversion automatically (the data is setup slightly different), and there you go. all done

Thanks chodadog.... did all that stuff before i read your post.. works now..... just dont like the new version that much...... Anyone know where i can get the add killer? so i dont have to see banners in my messages heh
