exactly... the federal prosecutors and Oprah have equated porn to CP.. which is completely insane, FBI field agents who bust pedofiles, rarely find porn with the CP images... CP is a mental sickness and they don't look at porn. you don't all of a sudden become a pedo... it usually occurs in the developing years, usually through personal trauma, continues through growth, or surfaces later in adulthood.... you don't become a pedo because you see pics of underage kids.. there is more brain synapses that have to get fired off that taps into the mental illness. Fight the Pedros! |

All of my sites are labeled "Adults Only" with a warning page. Does the chairman suggest "adults only" labels on nekkid pictures?
|

That was a pretty harsh threat.
Umm people go register your sites with ICRA if you have not yet. |

This is why I suggest IE blocks everything but .kids by DEFAULT preinstalled. Adults will quickly learn how to unblock the .com's etc....

umm fuck mark pryor.
|
 :mad why do they have such a boner for .xxx???
anyone with half a brain can see that it WON'T WORK!! |
Yep, .xxx would be stupid. We all know that, he seems to have an interest in it as opposed to other solutions.
|
Mark Pryor is a stupid hick.
|
Mark Pryor OBVIOUSLY has a financial motivation for his questions.
Furthermore he doesn't even listen to the answers after he asks a question. What a fuck, the cowboy attitude is irritating too. |

Paul isn't much all the ball with good answers. These people need to sit down with a few of us and learn how to answer these questions in ways that would crush them.
|
One of the congressman asked Cambria about .KIDS that couldn't a porn site operator get a .KIDS domain and therefore gain exposure to kids.
Cambria didn't have a strong answer like he had with the other questions. What he should have mentioned is that whoever is the registrar for .KIDS would have a review committee that would ensure that the website that owns the .KIDS domain would be screened and validated to be kid friendly. That this registrar would also monitor the websites to ensure compliance. This is why a .KIDS domain would cost like $200/year As a policy, any .KIDS website that snuck in porn, and after a review process, would lose the domain. .KIDS is the only effective tool that can protect children. Some will argue that the .KIDS.US extension did some pitiful that there is no support for a .KIDS .KIDS.US is not a good extension, and it really takes technology companies like Microsoft and AOL to put in a .KIDS filter to make this a reality. Then ISP will offer proxy services to filter... third party products like zone alarm, norton firewall, etc could put in the white listing filter. The senator from VA was the most tech savvy, and he said that he would rather see technology solve this problem, not congress. Self-labelling with ICRA is great, labelling content is great.. but the problem is those that don't take that responsibility causes the problem. And as a national study found, over 75% of free content porn comes from outside the US.. so any blacklisting filtering like .XXX just won't work...it will be like swiss cheese. Lobbying MS and AOL is needed! Fight the .XXX! |
Yep, .KIDS would be nowhere better policed than the adult industry itself as well IMHO.
.KIDS trying to host adult content would be like a criminal in prison for child abuse, and we all know what that means. .XXX would simply double overnight the number of porn sites on the net. Duh. |
The chairman was trying to point fingers at the adult industry as being the problem.
The statistics gather by asacp.org over the last 2 years, has conclusively pointed out that CP is prevalent in the US! but. it is mainstream companies that are inadvertantly hosting, billing, and domain registration for CP. There will be more talk about the asacp.org data to government to refute the fingering pointing at adult. Fight the numbers! |
Gotta love the one quote from Sen. Mark Pryor...
