Ja, it's typical legislative bullshit. It's supposedly to 'see' if the administration's Child Protection Act is legal? So, you bend the law to see if something is legal? Google is right. The outline is too broad, not specific. It needs to be fine tuned. If they want to protect kids, CLOSE THE FUCKING BORDERS because here in California, so many child abusers come from Mexico, commit crimes and then run right back across. But they can't close the borders as it would fuck up the dope and prostitution trade.

Until a few minutes ago the BBC was showing a program 'The world according to Google' and the BBC news on the other channel was having this story as one of the top stories of the day. Safe to say they are an insitution now and I am happy they are standing their ground. Too close to thought police.

The bottom line to all this is several fold.

We want to fight CP. Yet this administration has engaged in all sorts of destructive behavior based on bad information. It's obvious there's a hole in the dam. So they've been granted unprecedented powers that even the Legislative Branch is wary of. It may be admirable for the administration to try to do the right thing but there's too much room for more destruction than creation or preservation. Too many conflicts of interest and far too many citizens whose livelihoods have been destroyed by natural disasters alone and haven't been addressed properly. Add to that the wars and terrorism and it's a case of nobody watching the hen house.

It's a dangerous game to play as it inevitably will backfire and we can't afford any Executive Branch scandals or disruptions. Clinton's dumb ass brought all this down and it's Bush trying to repair it that's gotten things worse in many ways. Better in some.

Well, stocks dropped like a rock today. Google stock dipped and sure as heck I'd buy some. Niiiiice ploy.

Wonder if there'll be an investigation and audit of who bought Google stock after this debacle.

Bet it's Haliburton.
