i need some reference photos for a design - 'makeup case' and 'makeup box' don't yield many search results - there must be a more common term for whatever that makeup carrying thingy is?

Some people do actually buy real tackle boxes from an crafts store to store makeup and some do also refer to it as a tackle box. But the official name is train case. I don't like the term vanity case, I visit a lot of makeup forums and the accepted name is "train case" its the universal term, some people might use "vanity case" but it's not the the norm. Train case is more popular and accepted!
A vanity by itself is just the stand where one can sit and apply makeup at.

Now all of a sudden I feel like buying new makeup, I really some of those new chromeglass lipgloss things, and some new brushes, and some mineral skinfinishes. I also need some more paints and pigments.
I am really obsessed with makeup. I was really excited when I read this thread on gfy. I mean like really obsessed like I spend hours researching what new stuff to buy.
