So maybe you only disagree with my use of the word "fad". I think that word fit well, but maybe our opinions only differ on the definition of fad perhaps?

LOL in before your edit hehe.

I can remember checking BBS's for MIDI songs. I have an old keyboard thats been sitting in it's case for maybe 12 years or so.. Ensoniq VFX SD I think was the model. Pretty old huh?

I have a Sonica-X - totally quiet system, rackmountable and extremely powerful. It kicks ass and I'm running Cubase.

Get some of the East/West VSTs - expensive but there is nothing like 'em.

no they aren't. they're ideal if you can't be pounding on loud ass drums, and they're way better than the real thing for recording purposes if you don't have the *perfect* setup for recording (like proper room acoustics and the best mics)..

this is my setup:
http://www.garysimon.net/drums2.gif

I use Drumkit From Hell Superior samples in conjunction with these to record and they sound excellent. Not only can you NOT tell that they're samples, but they're also equal in quality to drums you'd hear being recorded by major record labels (assuming you know how to mix / master well)

I have a few mp3's up here: www.myspace.com/beingband that I used the vdrums to record through dkfh superior... I'm not great at mixing/mastering yet but for only a month's worth of tampering around with, I think they sound great :)

i like using the drum heads as triggers to completely nail a punch in.

Sure, post it. I'd love to hear the radio ready quality.
