Different Subdomain, same IP

How do search engines see different sites on different subdomains but on the same IP. What I am really curious about is for instance doing linktrades on the different subdomains. Would it still be beneficial SE wise having say a link going to the same site off of all the subdomain sites or would it only be beneficial in getting more hits.

It will get you banned in Google but Yahoo won't mind... But it WILL get the domain banned in Google.

Oh give me a break people, it makes no difference if you have subdomains or not, if you think Google penalizes because you are using subdomains on the same ip wouldnt wikipedia and such sites that use hundreds of subdomains be penalized. Please.

have done it for years, without being banned by google. people who believe the theory and buy multiple ip #'s will say it's helped them.. but they don't really know unless they've tried the same on 1 ip for a length of time first. and people who sell ip #'s, have an agenda.. why listen to them ?

Agreed.

I would like to see concrete proofs of results using multiple IP's and even more those famous class C ip 's ...

Now, I have IP's for sale :
