what are the most profitable business to be in?

Mainstream only. What are the best (most profitable) businesses to be in? Oil, auto, airline, mortgage and real estate excluded ;)

But he was actually correct. That's more of a question of what stock should I buy rather than what business should I go into. The business you go into should depend on your skills and interest are not what's profitable. If your a dumbass regarding a certain business then it is not likely to do you any good to go into that business no matter how well others are doing. But if you're the right person and have the right ideas, you may be the person that can make something work that others are having a horrible time with.

Yeah, you're pretty much right about that. I have a lot of great ways to kill the competition in the business I'm currently getting into. It's a business where people throw a lot of money around for life-long memories on the single most awaited day of a couple's (well, the woman's at least) life. So far I think it will be a full-on slaughter, based on the skills I'm bringing to the table. I see most of the competition lacking the skills, giving me a chance to really kick some butt.
