    Please recommend the best laptop

Top priorities being speed and battery life. Well a good screen for being outside will help too.

I just want a really good one cuz mine is completely screwed!

i've had a couple problems with dells - but over all good.

i would say to stay away from too big of a screen if you're going to be traveling with it and want to use it on a plane. I've got a 17inch widescreen - and even in first class - I can't use it tooo comfortably.

Usually, you can't go wrong with a Toshiba. I have Dell Inspirons right now and there were issues with the OS when I originally got them. After reinstalling the OS, they work fine now.

Dells have really taken the edge for laptop lovers ... ofcourse, Sonys will always be great for screens / style .. and well, a good Powerbook is hard to beat

I have owned about 10 dell laptops without any problems (other than me spilling beer on them, stepping on them, shit like that). I would go that route or Sony (i just got one and it is pretty nice ;)

I just want a really good one cuz mine is completely screwed!
I am very happy with my Fujitsu E series Life notebook. I think it's the 8020....all I had to do was add RAM....having 2 gigs makes all the difference no matter what you buy.

Toshiba Satellite Tablet with pivoting screen lets you hand write notes directly on the screen then touch a button and it's converted to a word ducument and filed with one more touch. Fast as hell with multiple screens open, CD/DVD burner, tons of space, wireless is awesome. About $1500
