Did anyone here know that ingesting apple seeds are poison? I had no idea that eating them could kill you..well, if you have eaten enough of them it could. Geeez....

Apple seeds contain Cyanogenic Glycosides, which produces Cyanide. But you'd have to eat a hell of a lot of them for the effects to be fatal. So eating 3-4 apple seeds at a time is no big deal.
BTW, salt is poisonous as well, but in low doses is no big deal. Eat 1/2 cup of salt, and you *will* most likely die. Pretty much everything, including water, is fatal in large enough doses. |

Apple seeds' dangers all seems to be in who you ask. I haven't seen any actual reports of people dying.
You should read this page as well...of course, it's on the internet, so it must be true! http://www.zetatalk.com/health/theal04g.htm Look up Vitamin B17 and see what you find. It's present in many fruit seeds, and helps prevent cancer.
