Keep your own records and you should get them from any sponsors that paid you over $600.

$600 the whole year. If you don't get them just make sure you report what you earned from your check stubs or wires.

This is a good question. Cause most of the programs didn't have me fill out a w9 just entered my SSN (social security number) and now it's coming on tax time and I'm wondering if they are going to mail me w2's or what.. I've only made enough from ccbill if 600 is the min. The other guys have only paided out 200-500... so is ccbill going to mail me the forms or what. I have all the checks (the top bits with check number and amount) in my personal records.

Yes, you have to report all your earnings.

You have to report all income. Some sponsors will send 1099s, some won't. I think the only program that ever took a W-9 from me was ARS.

Total it all up, if you made enough to owe a considerable amount in taxes, get a CPA (not H&R block, which are noob tax preparers).

I'm too tired to look but theres a calculator somewhere online for self-employed people for how much tax you'll owe (it's bracketed). Hit me up on ICQ tomorrow if you can't find it.

Companies are no longer required to send out 1099 forms.

It's up to us to keep records and report accordingly.

Incorporating, if you make enough per year, is really the best business move you can make. It's inexpensive and I recommend an 'S' corporation.

I do suggest getting a tax preparer....if he/she is efficient and good, one does not need a full blown CPA.

H & R Block are the worst.

what's the minimum to incorporate? What really sucks is if i make this a "business" I'll have to pay state taxes up the ass and federal taxes. Thus, only getting like half of the money earned lol

Keep in mind you're never "self-employed" -- you're always in partnership with your rich Uncle Sam. A little perspective will save your ass at some point down the road

30%?!? Shit man...you need to make more! Self-employment tax alone is 15.3%.

yeah if your making decent money def look into becoming incorporated. This is my first full year incorporated and it saved me more then 10 grand just in taxes.

Got a meeting with my accountant today to do over things. I like to get mine done early so I don't have to worry about it.

There're several things you can do to get excused from paying your full tax bill.

One caveat...even if you haven't a dime to pay the taxes you owe...BE SURE TO FILE! It's a crime not to. The IRS will work with you if you can't pay but they don't have much of a sense of humor if you fail to file.
