apparently they are moving it to the first week in march next year, essentially overlapping right on top of webmaster access cancun and 2.5 weeks before phoenix forum. i'm not liking that. thats the word going around the casino at the show that just finished.

I heard the same thing about the scheduling for next year. Maybe Internext will consider just one kickass show later in the year instead of trying to COMPETE with the other shows. The strength of the industry as a whole should be of first consideration, not seeing who can draw who to what show!

They should consolidate the two shows... get rid of one or the other to make what's left worth attending. If it gets any smaller they'll lose all the sponsors.

Internext is still the "big gorilla" and has the power. A crappy internext still outdraws all other shows in the year pretty much combined. That can change, and I think this year was the first time that internext saw such a sizable decrease not only in the floor, but in the number of people through the doors.
We could easily poll companies here who sent less staff, less hangers on, and less reps to the show because of the costs involved in putting them there. I myself missed my first AVN show since maybe 97, because I couldn't justify the insane expense level versus return (return over what I could get here or on other boards, at other events, etc). Now, if AVN is truly listening, they will find a way between now and Miami to make the Miami show something truly to remember, making it larger than ever, and retaking their long standing as the top shows on the schedule. I think that this year's Pheonix Forums and Cybernet shows will turn out to be significantly better shows than the show that just passed. Alex |

So, what do you think we/they can do to get it started again? I really liked Internext but mostly its the parties and not the show I like.
The show is only there because of the parties... or was it the parties that was there because of the show?? Hmmm.... pimpimp |

I still have fun at the parties and anything that goes on at night, but the floor seems to be getting increasingly pointless.

ccbill and phoenix forum have my undying respect and support. that show has been very well branded, promoted and productive for me. i'll promote the shit out of phoenix forum for ron and the other sponsors for phoenix forum. i've always supported avn, farley has always done hi sbest to take care of me, and when jeff random was there he also went above and beyond several times for me. in my opinion jeff is very knowledgeable about the internet, knew the biz, and cared about the webmasters, and is still a great friend of mine since he's left. i still like the mag and someday i'll go back to advertising again becasue people still read it, but with this internext in march thing, they are making it very difficult for me to continue to support and back them up. i still value the friends i have there, but i think that its looking worse for the vegas show next year. i hope no one fucks up the hollywood florida show. i really like that one. ![]() |
