    Best computer for under $400

    I'm buying my sister a new computer, she doesn't need anything amazing, but I don't want her stuck with junk either. For under $400, here's the best deal I have found so far, it's a Dell - http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...1d11h399&s=bsd

          dell is the only one that i know of that will be halfway decent for that price.

              Check your independent local shops, they'll be able to put a system together for that kind of budget and she'll be able to upgrade it later on unlike Dell who'll just fuck her in the ass.

                      Looks like a decent machine if she isn't using it for much. The only thing I would suggest is maybe going for 512mg of ram... XP is a memory hog. So that would be an extra 50 bucks.

                          I've checked a couple places, but no one can touch that price for the machine and a 15" flat panel monitor

                                                          Yep get the increaded RAM. Biggest mistake when people buy these cheap computers is not also gettting extra memory and then they wonder why it runs slow.

                                                          Also make sure she has here firewall, virus and spyware protection running as long as your getting the computer especially if she's not computer savy. Hopefully that Dell won't come loaded with Norton crap.
