First..did you go to Vegas? I think in my opinion ..those who can bitch are those who went....they have a "real reason" to bitch about the show ..or not. If you did not go, how can you bitch about something you dont know or have not experienced? Its like saying you did not like fucking....when you were still a Virgin...lol |

i had an awesome time in vegas. AEE was great. |

i think some people are taking their past experience of going to shows, and applying it to this show (which they may have or have not attended) you are right though, you can't bitch about something you had nothing to do with....but anyone who has been to internext vegas in the past can see how painfully sad this most recent show was, and people didn't have to be there to see that in all honesty, i think it would be a good thing for avn to combine AEE and Internext, in vegas at least....and just have like 2-3 hours in the morning for business, then open the flood gates it seemed like the internext folks had a blast at AEE, so why not combine them? |

I don't think Microchick is bitching about the show, MC is bitching about JFK bitchin about people bitching. j |

I walked over to the AEE show and made some very nice deals on content ...and it was fun. The bottom line is this, i know this will be hard to imagine, but if you told me that VHS was never going to be around years ago..i would have said "bullshit" Soon DVD is going to be replaced by digital online movies.....Hot Movies had a huge presence at the AVN Awards.....its moving as quick as all high speed is ramping up world wide. Both shows together would be fun.... |

and really, who cares just how much money you make anyway..its kind of like telling us all just how Big you think you dick is anyway isnt it? Those who really have it, make it ...dont have to talk about it.....right? |

I have been to a ton of video side conventions, and to be honest, I fucking love them...everyone there is there to A. have a blast no matter what and B. make money in every way possible and I agree with what someone else said on another thread, make it like erotica-la too, where companies can sell their shit....can you imagine a fleshlight booth with surfers being able to purchase shit, but also have an office space in the back for future affiliates and wholesale purchasers? |

Hey did you know ricks has alot of money? lol |

and yeah, i heard ricks has money, not sure where I heard it though |
There is a VERY simple way to do it that would create more buisness for both sides. Have you ever walked around the AEE show during business hours and talked to the owners and tried to do business? Many of them are old school and don't know how the Internet works, whereas we come in and need the video side, distributors, etc.
Now, what they SHOULD do ... is have both shows on the same week. Take SmashBucks for example since I am using his and Brother Bareback's responses. SmashBucks could go to the show and exhibit to the webmasters Monday-Wednesday then on Thursday move their booth over, tear down the graphics and replace them and then exhibit to surfers Thursday-Saturday. This gets both the video and the internet side doing business together Mon-Wed and then has both surfers and movie watchers walking around the whole thing Thurs-Sat. But no one would ever do that, makes too much sense. |

Not tearing down anything, but what could be done is making sample CD's trackable with all great "teaser content" on them etc...why CD ..its trackable....easy and cheap. Cheaper than tshirts or other nonsense. Smashbucks did the live broadcast in conjunction with AVN, Legendary Lars, Adult Friend Finder, and Oc 3 networks ...that worked nicely to the webmasters in the world that either did not go to the show or just wanted to watch from a far. As for AEE, no way, it had to be face to face and shaking of the hands, that was the magic that closed our deals with some of these truly old school studios. You are thinking the right thing...there was great biz to be had at Internext, but combining the two for us, would totaly make it fun! |
I dont see it as bitching, I see it as criticism. Perhaps the criticism will cause change for the better.

No!!! Give the surfers the morning, then kick them out . . . our nights last too far into the morning. Better idea would be 2-3 days of biz, then open to public |
IMHO misery loves company
|
Quote:
haha, yeah, i thought about the nights...like leave it open to consumers til 4pm, then 4:30-7 is business only.....but in all honesty, if you were running a booth, would want to deal with consumers all day, and then have to finally get to do business after you were totally worn out from the craziness of the consumer rampage? plus, it would be practicly impossible to monitor the badge situation with consumers in morning then clearing them out, much easier to do business first then consumers |

Wed - Thur = Internext Fri - Sat = AEE + Internext with us changing our format to be geared more towards the surfers... |

As Mike has mentioned , Yes at this point and time the two shows should be combined, have it in the same room , with a trade only area for internext, where all the video guys and others would have access. It could be opened up to sufers at specific times of ther day. Now watch the bitching start about Internext being in March next year.So many people have asked the show to be moved off the January date, now that they have done it, let the whining begin :winkwink: |

Apart from the irony here, I think you're absolutely right. :thumbsup |
No bitching from me.
I enjoyed the show. :thumbsup I was finally able to do some real business with people, without having to fight for their time and attention. Hats off to Topbucks, for sponsoring the V-Bar. The fucking prawns were huge!! and you could actually talk to someone without music destroying your ear drums. |
I'm still trying to figure out how to make money at this SEO thing.

hahaha, I figure the way I pitched it was I could afford the booth space but not to actually exhibit, lol. I would just stand there and say all day, no money in seo, just look at the booth! LOL WG |

Show floor? Not very packed, but that doesn't mean it didn't work out for those that had booths.
Attendance was up. Very up. In essence, opportunity existed, it was just a matter of taking advantage of those opportunities in ways that made sense. |
Quote:
The ideal show floor for me personally is a less-busy one with a good group of quality people with traffic whom i can make deals with. If I come away from a show with just 1 traffic deal for maybe 10 sign-ups per day, that is a successful show. Not to mention the less busy the floor the more chances I get to visit other sponsors' booths (who we do alot of business with) and chat with them. |
Quote:
if I worked for someone and needed to get quality leads, i would be in your shoes....but being the person that owns what I am trying to sell, I would want tons of people and lure them all in with something sparkly, in hopes that 10-20% stayed on for the long run because I know how to treat em' |
oh, and don't take what I just said as you not knowing how to treat people, i didn't mean that at all, it came out wrong

Its a good idea and yes should be considered..times have changed and they are a changin...in this biz someone told me way back 6 months is like 2 years....things move fast. In my opinion if the studios are not doing biz with the internet companies is a big waste of time, the seperation between the 2 doing biz is huge, but the reality of the biz is very close. Old school minds over there in "studio land" guys like James from Hot movies and AEBN are changing minds ...the way we watch media is changing before our eyes.. As i said in just amazment of the AVN awards, what went thru my mind was the "future" what is it? Not just for Internext but the entire biz as a whole? I am talking about DVD...will it end up in the same place as VHS? It would seem to be moving quickly that direction, then i ask myself, why do i see this and all these major studios dont? The next big thing.....its moving right in front of our noses...... Combining both shows would be super exciting for us personaly, we are moving that direction anyway...as i said we made some monster deals with some studio at AEE. Anyway that is my :2 cents: |

What is funny above someone talks about talking to NOOBS...and wasting his time or wanting to charge a consulting fee....lol This cracks me up, cause we were noobs once, and the people that helped us we never forgot and do deals with. That is what building great relationships is all about. and again.....AVN AWARDS SHOW...was totaly off the hook....anyone on this board sitting in here dark little room needed to be there to witness just how fucking huge our biz is....first hand i can tell you seeing that blew me away. Eveyone again: The Adult biz is alive and well...and not going anywhere soon! |
