It's not a simple matter of walking away or changing the channel anymore. These people are spending major $$$ each year to put candidates into public office that will push their far right agenda. From your local politicians, all the way up to the white house. Thus, shoving it down all of our throats.

Funny thing is, alot of these so-called "religious" politicians are the biggest crooks in Washington.. ie: Tom DeLay.

I guess as long as they support the far right's agenda then turning a blind eye to the rest of the bullshit is ok with the hypocritcal idiots.

I could go on and just type up a good rant I guess, but in a nutshell.. the religious far right can go straight to hell as far as I'm concerned.

They have every right to their own beliefs and faith. Just stop trying to shove it down the throats of the rest of us.

Utah Theater Cancels 'Brokeback Mountain'

SALT LAKE CITY - A movie theater owned by Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller abruptly changed its screening plans and decided not to show the film "Brokeback Mountain." The film, an R-rated Western gay romance story, was supposed to open Friday at the Megaplex at Jordan Commons in Sandy, a suburb of Salt Lake City. Instead it was pulled from the schedule.

A message posted at the ticket window read: "There has been a change in booking and we will not be showing 'Brokeback Mountain.' We apologize for any inconvenience."

Cal Gunderson, manager of the Jordan Commons Megaplex, declined to comment.

The film, starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal, is about two cowboys who discover feelings for one another. The two eventually marry women but rekindle their relationship over the years.

The movie's distributor, Focus Features, said that hours before opening, the theater management "reneged on their licensing agreement," and refused to open the film.

Gayle Ruzicka, president of the conservative Utah Eagle Forum, said not showing the film set an example for the people of Utah.

"I just think (pulling the show) tells the young people especially that maybe there is something wrong with this show," she said.

Mike Thompson, executive director of the gay rights advocacy group Equality Utah, called it disappointing.

"It's just a shame that such a beautiful and award-winning film with so much buzz about it is not being made available to a broad Utah audience because of personal bias," he said.

I have fuckall against blacks, jews, chinks, spiks or whatever.
And even if I use these kind of words, they are meant in the comic sense, and not to step on anyone.
If they don't like my way of "dialogue" well tough, I don't ask for permission from anyone.
Even if some may be offended by it, as that is not my intent.
It's my right to be stupid if I choose, and hell, sometimes extreme language is just bone funny.

The problem in freedom to be stupid, is that it's so fucking easy.
And that's my predjudice.
I believe that religious people are generally more stupid than the rest of us.

And by that I mean the RELIGIOUS! Not just the people with the "normal" attitudes that they "like" the belief and hope of life after death etc.

You're right... it's those pesky republican teachers and their unions, those poor welfare-tit suckling republican immigrants flooding the schools with their litter of children making learning damn near impossible for people actually born here and able to speak English because the teachers have to stop every 10 seconds so the translators can keep Pedro, Julio, Tito, Miguel, Jesus, Carlos, Juan, and that Ukrainian guy in the corner in the loop.

Of course, I'm only speaking from my own personal experience, in the heavily republican dominated red state of Massachusetts.
