Bunches of people i know drink a glass of water after a few beers. They say the hangover will be less the next day. Good point. Hangovers are partly caused by dehydration. But beer is also water. Its like 99% water. When it enters the body isnt it treated as water as well? Ofcourse with extra ingredients in it. I doubt your body knows whats water and whats beer. Know what i mean?

Alcohol dehydrates the body, That is why you get a hang over.. If you drink enough soda and no water you will kinda get a hang over feeling 24/7 but with alcohol its one smack in the face the next day once the alcohol buzz is worn off.

Dehydration is a small part of a hangover. It mostly has to do with toxins, changes in the balance of hormones, neurotransmitters and other biological substances in the body.

Alcohol gets absorbed into the bloodstream. It's not like it all gets pissed out.

Your body extracts ingredients. It uses what it needs and the rest leaves your body again. When beer enters your body your body must see it as water and alcohol and other stuff thats in it. Not as beer. Icecubes in beer? You think your body knows the difference? Same with drinking a big pint and then slamming a glass of water. It gets mixed in stomach instantly.

Dehydration is more of an effect from the hangover. It's not really what causes the hangover.

The extra water would probably make the beer seem like an even weaker beer to the body because the dehydration elements of the beer are being diluted more. The extra water will probably also make you pee even more, which gets even more of the toxins out of your system.

You're diluting the effects of beer. You would be told to do the same thing if you induced certain types of chemicals as well. I really don't know what you are having trouble understanding.

But another beer would dilute the effect of the previous beer as well. Because its 99% water. Your theory is totally correct. If you stop drinking beer and switch to water.

not really, the alcohol is still going to enter the bloodstream no matter what, drinking water while drinking really isnt doing much but making you piss more, but drinking a few glasses before shut eye will help..

Alcohol goes directly to the intestines so it doesn't really matter what else it gets mixed with. If you have 10 beers, it's pretty much the same as 5 beers and 5 waters. That from the 5 beers will find its way into the bloodstream.

Think of it like this. You bring 4 ugly dudes to a club and 5 hot chicks. The 5 chicks are getting in and the 5 dudes aren't, even though there are 10 of you. Now if it were just 5 hot chicks in line and no ugly dudes, the 5 chicks would still get in.

not true at all, I drink almost only soda and I never have a hangover feeling

in fact, in the past 4 days I have been through 2 12 packs of soda and not a drop of water, and I feel great right now

a lot of people drink water in between to hydrate a bit more yes, but also to help them slow down on the drinking. Helps you from overdrinking but still lets you have a good time

Lately I've been drinking a little too much soda and I definitely feel the difference. I need to cut myself off after today for about a week or so and then get back to only one can a day. I feel bloated, little energy, etc. It really isn't good for you at all.

it hasn't effected me yet, it might eventually, but I get physicals every 6 months and a yearly teeth checkup, and everything is perfect

to be honest, i have been this way since I was 17-18 years old...I am 30 now and in perfect health

it is funny though, I have always eaten what I wanted to when I want to...I usually have fast food 6-8 times a week and I drink soda constantly

i am 5'10", 185lbs and in perfect health.....the one time I did try and go on a health food kick I got insanely sick...i had stomach troubles, i got a cold, my head hurt, etc....my body is just so used to this type of living that it has gotten used to it

i am also very active though, unlike most people that eat like I do, I am out of the house every day, I ride a skateboard and freestyle bike, plus every weekend we try and go out dancing

I always try to drink some water before bed but drinking in between beers seems funny. The only real way to avoid a hangover is to drink less, but for me that never seems to happen ;)

I have been the same for going on 15 years now without any troubles...i NEVER get sick, and I mean NEVER....i can't remember the last time I had a cold....I have no excessive weight, and the doctor says all my tests are perfect....so why would I change what I do because everyone thinks some other way is healthier?

its about giving your body and liver more water to process the alcohol which is quite taxing.. its irrelevent that beer has water. beer is not water. its beer. water is water. there is a difference when you liver is trying to deal with it.
