It's a common business plan with hosting companies, but very shady. Just depends in what you think is right I guess.

true, and then some companies charge you a fair fee for a fair amount of space/bandwidth ... get what you pay for like always
it's always a comprimise between uptime, service, price...
hey, if I knew how to admin a server I'll get VPS or unmanaged dedicated box for $50 - $100 a month and that should take care of most bandwidth and traffic needs.
