the amount of money you plan on paying is insignifigant when it comes to answering the spam complaints from their host, it's YOU that doesn't get it. Rocket science I tell ya

Anyone and everyone is afraid of mailer traffic it seems. This mainstream company I'm working with, if you want to mail, they have a seperate contract to sign and it basically puts any and all liability onto you, the affiliate.

I can see ppl are affraid of it. It makes sense. But when you have an opt in list and everything is 100% legal fear does not matter.

btw the spam complaints to thier host will mean nothing when the TOS and thier IP is waved in front of the host's face.

We are talking 100% opt in newsletter here. I wouldnt even be sending it. They would login to thier forum software and mail thier forum members just like we get shit from gfy and lens.

;)

Perhaps they fear pissing off the members as well.

I have a few MSN groups from the old days. On occassion I will send an announcement to the group. Even though they can opt in and out at any time and are given the choice clearly when they sign up I see get a shit load of complaints.

The average internet user is clueless. They don't know what opt in is.

My sister-in-law works for Avenue A. She thinks her shit doesn't stink. I crack up when she tells me the things that they do. She brags about it as if they invented the internet. Everything she brags to me about is shit we started doing 6 years ago.

Yes but if the user unsubscribes from the forum thats one less person viewing ads etc. on the site for the site owner.

Of course your media buy may pay 10xs what any of the users that might cancel would have generated. Something the site owner should consider but many are narrow minded.

You found the perfect term to use for these mainstream people.

Narrow Minded.

That explains them perfectly.

You really should stop calling him a moron, when it is YOU that are clearly the morom here. It doesn't matter if it's single, doubletripple opt in or whatever. If someone complains that is is spam the anti idiots like spamhaus, spews, sorbs etc... will blacklist the host, and in most cases the entire block of ip's not just the ip the spam came from. The only way to bulk mail now is to use a whitelist method or just don't mail, it's not worth it for the host.

First of all I am not a Morom.

Second not only are you a fool you cant read either.

I know about spamhaus, spews, and all the other spam nazis out there. I have been in this business since 1998. So I think I might just understand what these idiots will do. And I also might not give a shit what these idiots will do. Oh no they block an ip range, "MY GOD"!!!! LMFAO....

I guess nobody can send out a newsletter that is 150000% opt in anymore.

Please can all the ignorant fools go away.

Yep. This trend will definitely continue specially as the efforts to tighten CAN SPAM mature into actual new FTC regulations.
