Anyone quit smoking pot, cold turkey, and end of feeling like hell? Cold sweats, random short dizzy spells, etc? My best friend from college smoked every day for 5 years, and quit over christmas, called tonight and asked. Anyone?

Its in your head man... you gotta find something else you'd rather be doing. When I go on vacations and dont smoke pot I just have a few drinks before bed.

just like cigarettes and everything else the body has adjusted to the drug over a 5 year period. He now tells the body to live without it. Of course it causes some disturbance.

I do... I was on h-bomb for a few years and smoked weed since I was 9 and quit smoking weed cold turkey 2 years ago... and I know the h-bomb was alot worse than weed was.. weed was a craving... h-bomb was very phycical.. fevers cold sweats.. you name it... I think it may be different for everyone

Reading through that link pissed me off. I'm sorry, but GOD has nothing to do with being addicted. All you are doing is passing the buck on to a myth. Yay for not taking responsibility for your actions.

Move to another house/apartment
Buy a different car
Get new friends
If you smoked with your girlfriend/wife, get a new girlfriend
Tell your dealer you got popped, and "It is not a good idea to speak to me anymore" - remove numbers from cell phone
Throw out the pipes, bongs, etc.
Check out some new music

Once you are off the shit, you would end up doing all of the above anyways.

Two weeks + off it, if you relapse, you will realize just how shitty it was... anxiety, paranoia, fucked up thoughts... wasted time

The problem I have seen with weed, is people make a lifestyle out of it... almost like a religion. When you start thinking you can not 'live' without something it is time to walk away from it.

Do this: Write down what you think about when your high, the thought processes. When you are not stoned (if there are a couple of hours), write down what you think about. I do this all the time to habitual smokers who say weed is harmless.... All of them end up quitting.

Thats never happened to any one i know that quit.

Mainly becuase pot, unlike cigs, isnt smoked everyday. If you smoke once a week, twice a week. It should be easy to go cold turkey
