This time of year, though, is when most gyms make their money, selling yearly memberships....and then the attendance tapers off...probably by the end of this month...

Yup, same thing i noticed - they just about doubled the ammount of personal trainers in the gym..so i guess they are ramping up for the rush.

When I used to hit the gym regular, always hated the first of the year because it was hard to stay in my routine, as the equipment was all being used. But definitely respected the fact everyone was giving it a shot, just like I was.

Now my exercise is hiking in the jungles, lifting light weights at the house and scuba diving each day...not much crowds in my current gym ;)
