Consider that at 12:05 AM on January 1, 2006 a business on the east coast makes an online purchase from a west coast company where it is 9:05 PM December 31, 2005, and the actual receipt is dated as such.

What would be the correct year for the business to write this purchase off on?

If the recipt says December 31, 2005 then it is still a 2005 write off i am sure.

Still better to ask your accountant.

The question is too ambiguous.

Tangible/Intellectual goods, FOB Shipping/Destination, etc.?
