Halcyon's 2005 letter

Did this year really happen?
So much of it was like a dream.
A pink, fluffy, perfect dream.

Tassy moved in with me on Dec 26 of 2004. With her by my side in 2005 we dedicated ourselves to being FLASHCA$H evangelists as we?

? Tried out for a reality show and went to Jamaica as finalists (we lost)
? Attended a Playboy Mansion Party.
? Produced 2 music CDs.
? Had lunch with Grandpa (and hosted the hugnation podcast) weekly.
? Got really involved with IPTV (veoh.com)
? Started a Vlog (www.SpreadingThePink.com)
? Walked the beach countless times. Enjoyed countless sunsets.
? Lead a panel at SXSW
? Made giant strides in photography, video, lighting, and editing skills.
? Participated in Xara Dulzura & Burning Man.
? Launched an experimental adult paysite.
? Relaunched Globalgasm.
? Created PINK+AID to raise $ for disaster relief.
? Made a Grandpa Caleb DVD for his 93rd bday party. (learned basic authoring)
? And spread the pink with fervor.

Some of my projects this year have pushed limits. Some of my behaviors have pushed friends away. Many people have told me I'm off track. Overall I've just tried to be true to my heart. I?ve tried to listen to my inner guide. And I?ve tried, above all, to love.

Love more, fear less.
Float more, steer less.

The time I have spent with my 93 year old Grandpa this year has been priceless.
The time I have spent with Tassy has been bliss.
I've been much more solitary this year. Lots of staying home with Tassy and walking on the beach. I hope my friends understand. I trust the cycles will lead exactly where they should.

I love you.

And I sincerely hope 2006 brings even more love and joy for everyone who reads this.

Now that was a nice read. I am glad to hear that things are going well with you and tassy, and Grandpa!

It seems that you set some goals for your selves, and did damn well meeting them.

man after re-reading that, i have to tell you this.

i've been off track since 1970. being off track actually translates to being on track. societies twisted little web of what is on track is actually off track. fuck what people think about you. fuck what they say to others. if people think you are off track you are doing something right. people don't like change, regardless how small it is, and rebel against it. bottom line is, are you a happier and more fulfilled person living your off track life? i am. your heart is huge, your spirituality is unmatched, and you and tassy are great for each other. none of this superficiality matters as long as you are remaining true to what you believe in and pursue what you feel is right for halcyon.

absolutely. the truth hurts, but it must be told and realized. not being yourself by following your heart essentially has you living the wishes of others. the costs of being true to yourself are far less than the damage that you do being something that someone else wants you to be because it makes them a more comfortable human being. bearing the burden of being different carries a reward that you cannot earn or buy. i thank the universe everyday for making me what i am, no matter how wrong i may seem to others.

oh baby, i love how eloquently you write the things that i feel! it takes the work out of it for me - but seriously, this year has been one of the most fulfilling in so many ways - of my life. i love that i have found *my* adventure partner - the man who crosses over the same boundaries as i - but also *respects* the same boundaries as i....i love you, and i hope for everyone to feel this love somewhere in their life. this is my wish for 2006 - we all know life is precious, how about we all start acting like it by *expressing* how we feel about people, letting them know about the love you feel, because they (and you) all deserve that.

You are lucky to have a wonderful Grandpa Caleb...he rocks from how you describe him....I also have one that's in his late 90s...he's got that wise yoga transcendant vibe, even though coming from a very white-bread background...amazing how old schoolers can be soooooooooo with it given their interesting backgrounds...and yet some people with infinately more liberal backgrounds can be so narrow minded....life is a trip...

as for following your dream and living a 'purpose driven life' part of my move back to AZ is to accomplish this....sadly it's not the climate I enjoy the most, I will miss the central coast of cali with a passion. I used to be able to take those special walks with my other half daily but it's a price I need to pay to get my goals accomplished in this life...

Enjoy some cool sand on your feet and sunsets for me, I look forward to the day I don't need to 'surrender to the desert'
