I read the Ruskies are demanding that Ukraine pay $230 per 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas. Isn't the current rate somewhere around $50 per 1,000 cubic meters?

its part of a dispute that has been going on for over a fucking decade with Ukraine refusing to pay market prices. they wanted their independence, they got it... if they want gas, they have to actually pay for it now.
