Woot Woot, no more maintaining 2257 documents for me.

I never understood why I had to have records of content people I never met and couldn't tell if those copies of documents I was getting from brokers/producers were legit or doctored.

Now as a secondary producer, it seems, so far, I will no longer need to maintain these 2257 records: http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/

Yes, that ruling is a very good step in the right direction for most of us in the biz.

Hopefully there will be move victories coming regarding 2257

its just a preliminary injunction. the law is still very much a threat. my understanding is that the law can still be passed. if not, i'm fucking happy as you bro. LOL

Don't count your chickens yet. Those are preliminary decisions and it would seem that both sides are going to appeal parts of the ruling. Smart money would be on making sure you're ready to be compliant.

Yeah, don't go changing anything just yet. All this ruling said is that they juge believes it likely that the plaintiffs will prevail on this one topic; at the actual trial, the judge could positively be swayed the other way.

Or, right-wingers in congress could just change the actual law, since the issue here is DOJ issuing regulations that contradict the law. If FSC does prevail in this case, I would expect it to take aobut 15 minutes for a bill to be introduced to formalize the secondary producer category.

I'm from Canada, but I still have to somewhat follow US laws since I often travel to the US to vist family and friends. Last thiung I want is end up in a US jail for violating their law...

The ruling also comes as good news for us here at Kastle Archives Productions since it has an impact on not only on the affiliate programs we currently promote, but also our own fantasy fetish photoart illustrations we've been creating since the late 90s.

Likewise, although we're Canadian...we still feel somewhat obligated to observe 2257 since our hosting is U.S. based.

Looks like we'll be amending our 18 U.S.C. 2257 notices on the sites very shortly.
