Is PR that big of a deal ?
I had PR3 when I first got my domain. I don't know if it was because the site was 7 rears old or not. What I want to know is should I try to find sites that are pr2 and above and if I link to a site that has a lower pr will it lower mine ?

No, it is actually a relic which Google is trying to get rid of.

It all dependes of if your use of "PR" refers to "page rank" or "people rank." The big Gooie uses both.

Yes, PR is a big deal if you want a high ranking on Google for a "bigger" term.

A PR 0 page with traffic is a bigger deal than a PR 5 without

If you want a serious answer
PR shown on the Google toolbar or all of those SEO sites that show PR is useless - doesnt mean a thing. Just a nice pretty indicator since two years ago when Google got smart and stopped showing real Page Rank with it - updated anywhere from monthly to quarterly these days. If you know what your real Page Rank is - that is helpful as its what really gets used in the algo by Google - but almost impossible to calculate and changes daily. |
