Remember Globill ? I got a settlement cheque

I totally forgot about them , today I got a check
in the mail from Escrow . I remember when shit
hit the fan with them , and they sent out emails
stating to send a DETAILED LETTER to Globill regards to
what is owed . At first I was NOT going to do it ,
than two weeks later I changed my mind I had nothing to lose,
so I did it ! I thought this was a waste of time they have like
thousands of cases they'll never reach mine and they're done
anyways what do they care , however
I did it anyway and how many years later ....

In the end, I am so glad and happy I made the
choice to send them a letter , requesting for my final
balanced payments !!!
I am very satisfied .
Anyone else get one ??

Well scratch my gonads! Congrats, your small effort paid off. I wonder how many out there never took the time to write them?

Thankfully none of my sponsors processed with them.

Nice extra bonus right after Christmas must be nice for you. :D

I remember that fiasco. I took the percentage owed, though I can't remember what percentage it was they were offering. Was surprised I got anything back at all.

I feel so very silly for not responding to those - didn't with Insite either and lost a shitload with those guys too. Oh well, live and learn.

I'll check my papers for the Insite stuff, I may still have a chance? heheh

That's pretty good, from the claims I've submitted in the past its been typically 10-15%.

I lost a little over 30k with them - After the sypro fall, I thought I had no chance of getting cash back from Globill, so unwisely decide not to fill out the accept form - I kept getting attorney letters keeping me upto date with the court stuff, but am also sure I will get nothing.
A German webmaster called me yesterday and said he had 50% back from them - Hopefully, many more will get paid -

SpookyCash lost a ton of dough and I personally paid SpookyCash's affiliates out of my own pockets, so you can be sure I remember when it was.

I received certified paperwork in the mail, not the email you referred to. I, of course, responded.

If you actually want to help other webmasters, it would be helpful if you explained what you mean by settlement check i.e. what percentage of what you were owed were you paid, that sort of thing.

If you received a check, the check has contact information and it would be helpful if you posted it or I guess emailed it to spookycash [at] gothicsluts.com

If you have no interest in helping other webmasters who lost a lot when Globill went down or even sharing any information at all, why did you bother to make this totally nonspecific and unclear post about it?

I made a post about this to let everybody know that I got a payment from Globill for Option 2 Settlement. If you followed the instructions and sent the letter around that time when they were sending out mass emails to globill client you may have a chance to get some sort of payment as well .
I got about 2-3 emails from globill at that time is all I can remember .

I can email you the info on the check stub that I recieved and i already cashed the check today so maybe the little info i have on the stub can
lead you somewhere .

Furthermore , it is NOT my responsibilty to dig up old globill info ,
anything I had for this was trashed/deleted .
Helping to find old info to reach globill to get a settlement for an issue that
was almost 2 years ago, was not the point of this thread at ALL

Ya know, I thought you were someone I'd hung out with who seemed cool and helpful and nice, but it must be a different spelling of the web handle. Sorry for the confusion.

I have the old Globill info and was in no way asking you to dig anything old up. Just asking about the new development which you posted about. If you got a check today, it doesn't seem like it would be that big an imposition for you to take a look at it and whatever letter came with it and share the info. If you want to keep that info to yourself, it seems odd to start a thread like this. But whatever.

I am the same "webgurl" you are referring to , I am confused as of why
you feel i have not gave any info in regards to this matter ?

On this thread i stated the amount which was approx 25% ,
and already stated that the Check was from Escrow and a name
on there which i said on a previous post to you that i can EMAIL you with that .
There was no letter that came with this check . All it said on this check stub
was the amount , Escrow , the name i assume 3rd party accountant/lawyer
Globill Option 2 Settlement . If you read this thread everything was already mentioned ,
except for the NAME which i posted I can email you with that.
So this pretty much sums it all up , I have nothing else on the fact of this matter.
As I mention again , this thread was to let anyone know if they had
sent a letter to reach a settlement at that time , you might have
a payment heading your way , thats all !!
my icq is 137469529 if you want to contact me for the name

Amelia...
She actually did mention that it was about 25% compensation, but it was not in the initial post so I can see how it was missed. I don't think either of you are withholding any info from the other, but it actually seems as if the settlement was a bit vague being as there was no letter accompanying the check, etc.

Cheers to you both and I hope to get our customary yearly Internext photo, Amelia.

Here's the email they sent regarding this matter on December 1:

This update concerns a pending payment to all Webmasters who selected the Option 2 settlement package.

The programmers successfully challenged the bankruptcy petition filed by the former CEO and CFO of GloBill.com, LLC: husband and wife accountants Daniel & Kathleen Warren. In so doing, the Court denied the accountants the right to discharge any of their debts or other financial obligations, including those owed to GloBill.com, LLC and the programmers. The accountants then appealed the verdict and a decision on that appeal is expected within the next three months. If the accountants lose their appeal, the programmers plan to continue moving forward with the civil claim, which was interrupted by these bankruptcy filings.

In the interim, we are pleased to report that funds which were frozen at the inception of the GloBill litigation have been released by the merchant bank. Within the next three weeks, 100% of the released funds will be remitted on a proportionate percentage basis to Webmasters who selected Settlement Option 2. The proportionate distribution will be approximately 15% against the base amount owed to each Option 2 Webmaster as reflected in the settlement package sent in October 2003.

Note that the Option 2 settlement agreements will continue to be in effect after this payment.

Payments will be sent to the last mailing address on file. Should you wish to update your mailing address, please send an email to [email protected] with your payee name (exactly as it appeared on your globill-systems webmaster account) and your new mailing address directly below. Please note that this email address is automated solely to process address update information. Please do not send any other form of communication to that email address, as it will not be processed.

Please note that the next update will be provided as soon as a decision on the pending appeal is rendered. To view all updates, including archived updates, please visit www.globill-systems.com and login with your old site ID and password.

I did get receive a check for about 15% of what they owed me, shocking but true. If they pay the rest, I'll be floored.

Damn someone is being a cranky.. She explained what percentage she got, as well as others that have posted in this thread. What do you want her to do forward you a copy of her check? lmao.. Your intentions might have been good with your reply to webgurl but your attitude makes you look like an ass.

I'm sure webgurl isn't going to lose any sleep over it. Unless she's like my wife... who can't stand the thought of anyone possibly not liking her.

LOL

Glad to see something work out for a change. I was only owed a few bucks at the time so didn't bother with sending anything in although I keep getting the updates.. or at least I did.

What were you refering to regards "Insite"??

AmeliaG: Usually you're pretty cool but you really must have got up on the wrong side of the bed or something.

Hi Everyone,
I'm also one of those who lost with Globill but I didn't submit any claim form. Do you think it would make sense to send this form now? Where did you send it? Can someone give me the address?
Thanks
