Well, I've yet to see a repeat skinning from the same company.. so it could be all about the hype, such as "this" sponsor did it so "we" better. Personally I've signed up to a few of them via the skins, but honestly I can't think of any that that I still actively promote.

More than getting affiliates flat out it helps produce a brand. Even if it doesn't directly affect affiliate signups, which i'm sure it does, the brand is talked about and at least remains in some level of the readers of this board as more recognizable.
